Application Accepted

Mr. Dawas, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should receive access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON THREE (VT-3) "Red Knights", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check-in in the VT-3 Ready Room. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. Make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community. Finally, when you are properly processed into the Discord (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!

Respectfully,

Sorry for the late reply, as our forums are really only used for our application process. Discord is mandatory to participate and we utilize it for training, scheduling, planning, and general communications when not in the game. It would not be possible to participate without being a part of our Discord server.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

How much total experience do you have in DCS (total hours or periods of continuous play without breaks)?:
It's a little hard to give an exact number probably a few hundred hours. Steam says 120 hrs. but I stopped using steam version awhile ago. If I had to make a number I would say 2-300 hours.
How many days do you play DCS per week on average?:
I try to play daily for a few mins to practice refueling and case I or III landing depending on server conditions when I login.

On a scale of 0-10 with 0 being never and 10 being always, how likely are you to read the training materials given to you when required?:
10 - I've probably already read something similar. I'm not entirely new to the F/A-18 I've been practicing for awhile now. But I do still have much to master.
How did you find out about us?:
I saw you guys on the DCS forums.
Why do you want to join CSG-2?:
Honestly, because my current group has disbanded scheduled operations. I have been playing regularly with a good group of guys, but due to bad organizational structure things fell apart recently. So now I've been looking for a new unit that regularly operates and plays together.
What is your availability for training and how much time can you spend on CSG-2 activities per week?:
I'm currently available 3-4 days a week I'm not able to fly on the days that I work, I'm scheduled for 12 hours at a time and I wouldn't be able to attend any events those days. I would be willing to attend every event I can. I love flying and DCS in general even more so with friends.
What do you enjoy about DCS? What keeps you interested in DCS in the long term?:
Honestly its the groups that interest me most. I've always had an interest in flying and millsim. I've played ARMA for years and deeply enjoyed that. DCS has attracted me due to its depth and complex simulation which I've found very interesting. But its the group and the community experience that keeps me playing long term. Not too much fun alone.
What personal experience, knowledge, skills, or training do you have that has some relation to DCS? What experience, knowledge, skills, or training (Not necessarily DCS-related) can you provide that benefits everyone?: I'm not really trained in anything in real life. I do have some knowledge about how to operate systems correctly but I'm by no means an expert.

What do you think is important for us to know about you?:
I'm generally dedicated to any group I join, if you guys are operating in the manner that you guys are advertising I think that we could have a wonderful time together

Just a quick question.  I've read up a bit on most of the information provided and am thinking this would be great for me.  The only thing is, I don't have is discord.  Is there any way to join up without it?  I'm happy to do comms on other platforms, if possible.  Totally dig the structure here!  Thanks!
