Tricky Application 08/10/2018
« on: October 08, 2018, 03:20:14 AM »
First Name: Jacob
Last Name: Ellwood
Discord ID: Tricky#7260
Age: 18

How long have you been playing DCS?:
Since around June 2017

Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?:
I have, and it is.

Desired Squadron:
VF-154 "Black Knights"

How did you find out about us?:

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?:

I have. Time won't be an issue for the near future, but will let you know if and when that changes.

Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?:
I do.

Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?:
I do.

Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?:
I do, and I will be able to. I understand that the current missions are taking place on NTTR, and while I do not currently have this map I will acquire it if I am selected for a flight.

Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?:
I'm in an ArmA III milsim unit that appears to take a very similar approach to realism, complete with serving personnel to provide that authenticity. I've never liked any other milsim group in ArmA, before or since. I've bounced around DCS groups a bit, but never truly settled. Since I joined the Discord, CSG-2 have seemed like a group that clicked well with me, and that I'd like to spend a lot of time flying with. I may be terrible at CASE I's, but if I'm going to learn them properly it might as well be with a group I'm going to enjoy flying with.

Plus, the Tomcat's cool as hell and I want in on that :D.

Application Accepted

Mr. Ellwood, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should recieve access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check in with either LT J. Wolfe or LT S. Clark. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge. Please do so HERE.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!
