Raptor Application
« on: April 24, 2019, 09:41:39 PM »
First Name: Peter
Last Name: Smith
Discord ID: Raptor
Age: 35

How long have you been playing DCS?: 10 years (DCS Black Shark release), but also played "Su-27 Flanker" by ED in the second half of the 90's

Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?: Yes

Desired airframe (F/A-18C, F-14B, UH-1H, or AV8B): AV-8B

If your desired airframe is F-14B, what is your perferred position? (Pilot or RIO): N/A

How did you find out about us?: other member of CSG-2

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?: Yes

Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?: Yes

Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?: Yes

Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?: Yes

Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?: I'm looking for a group that has the right balance for a structured teamwork multiplayer experience, but not so hardcore that we feel like we're actually signing up for the military. DCS is an extremely technical and detailed simulation that requires solid teamwork and sound tactics and proficiency among users to accomplish missions, instead of an arcade game where everyone is turned loose willy-nilly in the general direction of the enemy.

Mr. Smith, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should recieve access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with the AV-8B and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

We will assign you your proper member groups on Discord and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO (me) for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge.

Welcome aboard!
