A. Marrero Application, 21MAY2019
« on: May 21, 2019, 03:25:20 AM »
First Name: Adrian
Last Name: Marrero
Discord ID: marr1#1820
Age: 21

How long have you been playing DCS?: I've been playing DCS for about 1 month now(I know thats not much). I had tried the DCS steam version last year and trained with the Su-25 for a bit until I could takeoff and land. Not really impressed by the low fidelity model. I deleted the steam version. A month ago I downloaded the regular DCS version from their website and I discovered the TF-51 high fidelity model and fell in love with the realism and detail they put into the game(especially in VR). After a while, I bought my favorite airframe the F/A-18C. My mind was blown! I haven't put the game down since!

Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?: Yes

Desired airframe (F/A-18C, F-14B, or AV8B): F/A-18C

If your desired airframe is F-14B, what is your perferred position? (Pilot or RIO):

How did you find out about us?: Google

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?: Yes

Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?: Yes

Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?: Yes

Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?: Yes

Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?: I really fell in love with the realism that DCS has to offer. Realism is something I look for in every game and DCS knows exactly how to deliver that while also appealing to my passion for aviation. I am no pilot in real life, but my passion comes from a childhood of piloting in FSX, attending airshows and flying R/C aircraft. That same passion has led me to where I am today, a college student studying Aerospace Engineering. I love learning and would love to master fighting in the F/A-18C with the help of CSG-2's Training. I'm also just looking for that missing piece to enrich my DCS experience by joining a community. DCS has been extremely fun flying alone, but I feel that joining this community is gonna take that experience to an entirely different level. I want to be on that level!

Application Accepted

Mr. Marrero, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should recieve access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check in with either CDR J. Wolfe or CDR S. Clark. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge. Please do so HERE.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!

Respectfully,
CAPT J. "Saint" Wolfe
