Arc Application 26JUN19
« on: June 26, 2019, 05:14:59 PM »
First Name: Charles
Last Name: Arc
Discord ID: chain#5228
Age: 18

How long have you been playing DCS?: I really only started playing DCS in the late winter of 2018 and have played inactively since. I'm not terribly experienced but I do know very basics particularly pertaining to the 18c.

Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?: Yes

Desired airframe (F/A-18C, F-14B, UH-1H, or AV8B): F/A-18C

How did you find out about us?: Through internet searches and hearing about you through other realism units.

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?: Yes.

Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?:  Yes.

Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?: Yes.

Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?: Yes.

Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?: I would like to get my feet in the water of DCS and specifically that of military flight sim. I am a part of an ArmA Milsim unit as well, and thoroughly enjoy the style of play that very closely parallels with CSG2's 'realism gaming'.
I would like to get better at mastering the Hornet (and perhaps when I have the money and time, the Tomcat) and feel like CSG-2 would be able to help me do that and have fun along the way. I think that CSG-2 is the most promising DCS unit I have found and would like to be a part of the experience.

Application Accepted

Mr. Arc, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should recieve access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check in with either CAPT J. Wolfe or CAPT S. Clark. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge. Please do so HERE.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!
