Nick "Xellemane" Application 8/18/2019
« on: August 18, 2019, 09:20:32 AM »
First Name: Nick
Last Name: Monteo
Discord ID: Xellemane#6609
Age: 15

How long have you been playing DCS?:
Never played DCS.
Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?:
yes, I have read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and that is the experience I am looking for.
Desired airframe (F/A-18C, F-14B, or AV8B):
I will take anything I get, my desired airframe though is the AV-8B Harrier.
If your desired airframe is F-14B, what is your perferred position? (Pilot or RIO):
I have no experience in either posititon but I think RIO seems to be an interesting position.
How did you find out about us?:
I got bored one night and started looking into DCS, something I've been wanting to do for a while. I finally thought that it is something I want to try. I started browsing for newbie friendly groups when I came across your group on the subreddit "r/WingmanFinder" as the top post and went through the post. It seemed like you guys were friendly and an actual well built community so I joined the discord.

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?:
yes, I will admit I might not always be available since I have school, but Saturday operations seem to be something I will be able to regularly attend. I would also do the self training missions you guys previously mentioned on the discord on a regular basis.
Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?:
I do understand that, and depending on how long operations are I would be able to make Saturday operations if they do start at 8 (GMT -6) making the time 3-4 am for me, but most likely only on Saturday (which seems to be the primary time period for your missions) as long as those operations start within or earlier than that time frame I should most likely be able to do a full operation.
Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?:
yes I do understand that.
Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?:
I thought it was 2000 CST which I can then make, I can also make 1900.
Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?:
It seems like a well built friendly community which is primarily focused on realistic military aviation simulation which interests me. I want to give it a try, I can't say I will be good but I'd like to try my best and see how far I can get. It would also ease me into DCS and give me a community which seems well rounded towards DCS.

Mr Monteo, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should receive access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with the AV-8B and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Please note that due to your age, you will be on a probationary period once you enter your unit. If it is deemed that you are not mature enough to continue with the unit, you will be removed until such time as you can show the maturity to continue.

We will assign you your proper member groups on Discord and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO (me) for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge.
