Application Accepted

Mr. Thompson, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should receive access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON THREE (VT-3) "Red Knights", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check in with either CAPT J. Wolfe or CAPT S. Clark. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge. Please do so HERE.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

How much total experience do you have in DCS (total hours or periods of continuous play without breaks)?: I cant say the exact hours, but for the last two months I have been playing dcs nearly everyday for at least an hour.

How many days do you play DCS per week on average?: 5 - 7 (for the last few months, before that it was more like never)

On a scale of 0-10 with 0 being never and 10 being always, how likely are you to read the training materials given to you when required?: 8

How did you find out about us?: I was looking for a group that flys primarily the f 14 in a realistic setting and is also willing and able to provide training. Found you via a reddit post that was posted about 6 months ago

Why do you want to join CSG-2?: As stated above I am looking for a squadronm to fly realistic f 14 missions with. Additionally I liked your website and the whole concept appealed to me.

What is your availability for training and how much time can you spend on CSG-2 activities per week?: For the next year and a half I have a lot of time, sheduling will be the hardest. Preferably as early as you could muster (on weekdays we would have to be finished before 00:00 (summer time)). I could spend upwards of two hours a day (or more depending on sheduling).

What do you enjoy about DCS? What keeps you interested in DCS in the long term?: I enjoy learning about the systems on an aircraft and learn how to use them. It always amazes me how professional groups like this fly missions and that is what I want to do in the future when I am ready to do so.

What personal experience, knowledge, skills, or training do you have that has some relation to DCS? What experience, knowledge, skills, or training (Not necessarily DCS-related) can you provide that benefits everyone?: My personal knowledge in DCS is mostly limited to the F14. I know what the instruments are telling me and know what they do (pretty mutch all upfront, in the rear I dont have that deep knowledge(at the moment)). I dont have any DCS training.
I am a thoughtful person that tends to analize things a lot. I am also somebody who is level headed. In the real life I am with the German Navy and therefore have experience in a military environment.

What do you think is important for us to know about you?: I tend to make more mistakes writing english then I do speaking english. At the moment I have a lot of time but that will change in about two and a half years. I could say more about the precise situation leading to that but I am not comfortable revealing that information in a public posting (personal information).
