Jlorion21 Application Nov 10
« on: November 10, 2018, 04:19:40 PM »
First Name: James
Last Name: Lorion
Discord ID: #5384
Age: 16

How long have you been playing DCS?:
About a year but, I didn't start to take it serous until a month ago. I bought the F15 and every once and a while i would go  and fly it around. Around a month ago I started to really take the game seriously. I pretty much learned all the systems, how to play in multiplayer and formation flight all in one week. From there I would just play on GAW but i wanted more from the game and I wanted a more complex and rewarding aircraft. So when ED had the sale for the F18 and the Persian gulf map, I decided to pick it up and for the last week I have been familiarizing my self with it.

Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism game play and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?:
Yes I have and this is exactly what I am looking for.

Desired Squadron:
VFA-103, I understand that there are no current slots but I am not currently interested in flying the Tomcat and I would like to fly the hornet. I am hoping that I can at least train with them.

How did you find out about us?:
A post on Reddit, I hopped into the discord and I talked to some guys about the unit and decided I wanted to join.

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?:
Yes I understand that you need to be active and I am active mostly everyday. I am 16 but I'm hoping that a exception can be made. I have been in several Arma 3 units. I am mature and I do not mess around when it comes down to go flying or having serous discussions

Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?:
Yes I understand, I am in EST but this should be no issue.

Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?:
Yes I understand, and I am extremely motivated to become a member of a Squadron.

Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?:
Yes I should be able to attend these no problem.

Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?:
I want to join mainly because I want a group of people to play DCS in a serious manner and I want to get to know the people I am flying with and not just fly with some random dude. I want to have trust with who ever i'm flying with and them to have trust in me when it comes to do our Jobs.

Application Accepted

Mr. Lorion, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should recieve access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check in with either LCDR J. Wolfe or LCDR S. Clark. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge. Please do so HERE.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!
