Dakota "Baguette" Castets-Didier Application 10/7/19
« on: October 07, 2019, 09:40:19 PM »
First Name: Dakota
Last Name: Castets-Didier
Discord ID: Baguette#0977
Age: 26

How long have you been playing DCS?: 5 months.

Have you read and understood the unit's definition of realism gameplay and is it the kind of experience you're looking for?: Yes.

Desired airframe (F/A-18C, F-14B, or AV8B): F/A-18C

If your desired airframe is F-14B, what is your perferred position? (Pilot or RIO):

How did you find out about us?: Hoggit

Have you read and understood the requirements for our unit, the criteria for being active, and do you understand that failure to complete said criteria will place you into the reserves squadron?: Understood.  I am active daily but travel often for work, so may have sporadic times of inactivity that last a week or two at most.  I would naturally keep everyone posted as this comes up (as it will next week).

Do you understand that this is a CST (GMT -6) unit and that all events will be scheduled as such?: Yes.

Do you understand that by applying to this unit you are applying for a slot within a training squadron, that competes for slots within the unit. That as a member of a training squadron, you are not a fully fledged member of the unit until/if selected?: Yes.

Do you understand that attendance by all qualified and slotted pilots is mandatory on Saturdays at 1900 CST (Central Time Zone). Will you be able to attend these times?: Yes.

Why do you want to join Carrier Strike Group 2?:

I've been playing various flight simulators since I was kid (starting in IL-2 1946), and have discovered a new love in DCS and the F/A-18C.  Since I started flying again, I've longed for the action of campaigns and flying with a squadron of competent and skilled pilots, and Carrier Strike Group 2 seems like the perfect place for this.  I am admittedly extremely green when it comes to flying the F/A-18C and modern jets in general (most of my experience being in warbirds), but am eager to learn and fight as a part of a team.

Application Accepted

Mr. Castets-Didier, thank you for your application to Carrier Strike Group 2. Your application has been accepted. Within a few minutes, you should receive access to the rest of the forums and access to the modifications that we use. I am processing you into TRARON TEN (VT-10) "Wildcats", where you will undergo training with your desired airframe and squadron. After a few training sessions to get you up to speed on the basics of the airframe, you will join your desired squadron and finish your training with them.

Several things to do before officially flying with CSG-2: Join our Discord Server HERE and check in with either CAPT J. Wolfe or CAPT S. Clark. We will assign you your proper member groups and you can ask us any questions you may have, and/or schedule your first training session. Secondly, be sure to download any DCS mods that are required. You can ask your Squadron CO for that information, or check on the forums if you have access to it. Third, make sure you are running the DCS Open Beta client. All of our pilots utilize this client, and it is considered the main version of the game by most of the DCS multiplayer community.

Finally, when you are properly processed into the forums (given a proper name, rank, permissions, etc), you will need to check into your respective training squadron both on the forums and in Discord. Failure to do so within 7 days will result in an administrative discharge. Please do so HERE.

Thank you, and we look forward to flying with you!
